Trippy Terms of Service
Effective 7 September 2026 · Last updated 7 September 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Trippy, an independent project currently in open beta, built and run from Albania by an individual developer rather than by a company. In these Terms, "Trippy", "we", "us" and "our" mean that developer. You can reach us about anything at info@kvn.onl. If Trippy is ever incorporated, this section will name the company and these Terms will be updated before that happens.
You agree to these Terms by ticking the box on the sign-up form, or, if you created your account another way, by accepting them when Trippy asks you to. Trippy records which version you agreed to and when. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data and forms part of the information provided with these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create a Trippy account. If the law applicable to you requires a higher age or parental/guardian involvement for you to enter into these Terms, you must satisfy that requirement.
You may not use Trippy if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.
3. What Trippy is
Trippy is a personal trip-management and travel-memory tool. It can help you store and organise:
- trip dates and destinations;
- flights, trains, buses, hotels, events and other timeline items;
- "be there by" times and time gaps;
- tickets, booking confirmations, links and reference information;
- places, map links and map displays;
- checklists and reminders;
- photos, videos and trip memories;
- shared trip access.
Trippy is not a travel agency, booking service, airline, railway operator, hotel, insurer, navigation provider, emergency service, or professional travel adviser.
4. Your account
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- keeping your credentials and devices secure;
- activity carried out through your account unless caused by a security failure for which we are legally responsible;
- promptly notifying us at info@kvn.onl if you believe your account has been compromised.
Trippy can require email verification. You may also choose Google Sign-In where available.
Do not share authentication credentials with other people. Use Trippy's trip-sharing features instead.
5. Your content
"User Content" includes information and files you add to Trippy, such as trip details, notes, locations, timeline content, links, tickets, booking documents, cover images, photographs and videos.
You retain the rights you have in your User Content.
You grant Trippy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display, resize, compress, convert and otherwise technically process your User Content only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide Trippy to you and people with whom you intentionally share a trip;
- process and display uploaded media;
- create backups and maintain service reliability;
- secure, troubleshoot and operate the service;
- comply with law and enforce these Terms.
This licence ends when the relevant content is deleted from active systems, except to the extent copies temporarily remain in protected backups or retention is legally required.
For User Content you add to a shared trip, the licence continues for as long as that trip exists, including after you leave the trip or delete your account. Section 7 explains what that means in practice.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and lawful basis necessary to upload and share User Content, including content containing information about another person.
6. Tickets, passports and other travel documents
Trippy may allow you to upload tickets, booking confirmations, passport copies and other files.
These documents may contain private or security-sensitive information. You are responsible for deciding whether storing them in Trippy is appropriate.
You must not:
- upload another person's passport or sensitive travel document without authority to do so;
- upload forged, stolen or unlawfully obtained documents;
- share a trip containing private documents with people who should not have access.
Trippy is a storage and organisation tool. Uploading a ticket or booking confirmation does not validate it, guarantee its acceptance, or create a booking with the underlying provider.
7. Shared trips and collaborators
A trip owner can share a trip with other authenticated users.
Trippy currently supports roles such as:
- Reader: can view shared trip resources.
- Editor: can view and change shared trip resources.
- Owner: controls the trip and its sharing settings.
Depending on the trip, shared resources can include timeline details, locations, tickets/attachments, booking information and photos/videos.
Editors can change or delete resources within a shared trip. Only share editor access with people you trust.
Content you add to a shared trip stays with that trip. If you leave the trip or delete your account, the timeline entries, attachments and photos you contributed remain available to the owner and the other collaborators, and a trip that more than one person can edit passes to another editor rather than being deleted. This is how a shared trip survives one person leaving. Remove anything you do not want to leave behind before you go.
The trip owner can see account information used to identify collaborators, including usernames and email addresses.
Invite/share links can expire. Joining a valid link can create an ongoing membership that remains until the owner removes it, the user leaves through an available feature, or the trip/account is deleted.
You are responsible for obtaining any necessary permission before adding another person's personal data to a shared trip.
8. Google services
Trippy integrates Google services, including Google Sign-In and Google Maps Platform features such as Google Maps and Google Places.
When you use Google Maps-powered features through Trippy, your use of those features is also subject to:
Using them is optional: a place can be added by searching Google, by pasting a map URL, or by typing the details in yourself, and the Google code loads only if you choose to search. Where you do use them, you also agree to:
- Google's then-current Terms of Service;
- Google Maps Additional Terms of Service;
- Google's Privacy Policy; and
- any applicable Google Maps legal notices or attribution terms presented with the service.
Google, not Trippy, controls Google Maps, Places and Google-account services. Their availability, content, ranking, map data, place data, traffic information and external navigation results are subject to Google's services and terms.
9. Other third-party services
Trippy can use or link to third-party services for map/tile data, weather, email, browser push notifications, object storage, external websites, ticket providers and navigation.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control them and cannot guarantee that they will always be available, accurate or suitable for your needs.
External links do not mean that Trippy endorses the linked provider.
10. Maps, weather, times and travel information
Map displays, locations, weather, timeline calculations, time-gap calculations, traffic overlays and reminders are convenience features.
You must independently verify important travel information with the official provider, including:
- departure and arrival time;
- check-in or boarding deadlines;
- gate, platform, terminal or venue entrance;
- booking status;
- visa/passport requirements;
- local safety instructions;
- weather warnings;
- actual travel time and navigation.
Do not rely on Trippy for emergency navigation, safety-critical decisions, or information where an error could cause personal injury or serious loss.
11. Notifications and reminders
Reminders and browser push notifications are convenience features. Delivery can fail or be delayed because of browser settings, device settings, connectivity, push-service outages, operating-system restrictions or Trippy service interruptions.
You remain responsible for checking your tickets, provider notifications and official schedules.
12. Storage and technical limits
Trippy may apply limits to:
- file size;
- per-trip storage;
- total account storage;
- supported media formats;
- media processing;
- request rates and abuse prevention.
Current limits may differ by account plan or environment and can change reasonably as the service evolves. We will not reduce a paid entitlement retroactively without complying with any separate terms that apply to that purchase.
The reviewed version of Trippy contains storage-plan definitions but does not itself implement payment charging. If paid services are introduced, pricing and any additional purchase/subscription terms must be presented before a user is charged.
13. Acceptable use
You may not use Trippy to:
- violate applicable law or another person's rights;
- gain unauthorised access to another account, trip or file;
- distribute malware or malicious code;
- interfere with, overload or probe the service or infrastructure without permission;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract data in violation of applicable terms or law;
- abuse invitation links, authentication, email or push systems;
- upload unlawful content;
- impersonate another person;
- use Google Maps/Places content in a manner prohibited by Google's applicable terms.
We may take proportionate action to protect Trippy, users and infrastructure where misuse occurs.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains the categories of personal data we process, why we process them, sharing, retention, your rights, and account deletion.
Do not treat acceptance of the Privacy Policy as consent to all processing. Where consent is legally required for a particular optional feature, it must be requested separately.
15. Account deletion and leaving shared trips
You can delete your account from your Profile, or by writing to info@kvn.onl. We can require reasonable re-authentication first.
Deletion is scheduled 30 days ahead. Until then nothing is destroyed, the account is locked to taking a copy of your data or restoring it, and restoring cancels the deletion.
15.1 If you own private trips
Deleting your account normally removes private trips you own and associated active-system data, subject to lawful retention and backup rotation.
15.2 If you own shared trips
If another user can edit the trip, deleting your account does not delete it. Ownership passes to one of its existing editors and the trip keeps its timeline, attachments and memories.
Readers do not change this. If you are the only person who can edit the trip, it is treated as a trip you own alone: deleting your account deletes it and its content, and any readers lose access. Export or hand over anything they need before you confirm.
Before deletion is completed, Trippy should clearly explain the effect on each shared trip, including which trips will pass to another editor and which will be deleted.
15.3 If you collaborate on another person's trip
Deleting your account removes your membership and your access.
Content you added to the trip, including photos and videos, stays with the trip under section 7, with personal attribution removed or anonymised where appropriate and subject to applicable data-protection rights. Delete anything you do not want to leave behind before you delete your account.
15.4 Files and backups
Deleting a database record is not treated as sufficient deletion where a corresponding user file remains in active object/local storage. Trippy's deletion process must remove applicable active files.
Protected backups can retain deleted data until the documented backup rotation expires. Backup copies are not used for ordinary product access.
16. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Trippy at any time.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to:
- protect accounts or infrastructure;
- investigate serious misuse;
- comply with law;
- address a material breach of these Terms.
Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.
Termination does not remove rights or obligations that by their nature survive termination, such as accrued legal claims and applicable intellectual-property provisions.
17. Trippy intellectual property
Trippy's software, brand, logos, interface design and original service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These Terms do not give you ownership of Trippy's intellectual property or third-party map/provider content.
You may use the service only as permitted by these Terms and applicable law.
18. Service availability and changes
We work to keep Trippy available and reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free service is not guaranteed.
We may modify features, provider integrations or technical architecture as the service evolves. If a change materially affects contractual rights or privacy practices, we will provide notice where required by law.
We may discontinue the service. If reasonably possible and legally required, we will provide advance notice and a practical opportunity to export user content before a permanent shutdown.
19. Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trippy is provided on an "as available" basis.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We do not warrant that third-party travel, map, place, weather, traffic, ticket or navigation information is complete, current or error-free.
20. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
To the extent permitted by law, Trippy is not liable for losses caused solely by:
- inaccurate or changed information supplied by a travel/provider service;
- a user's failure to verify official travel information;
- third-party service outages or navigation results outside Trippy's reasonable control;
- loss of access caused by a collaborator or trip owner exercising permissions that the user intentionally granted, except where Trippy failed to enforce the permissions described by the service.
Any additional monetary liability cap should be set only after legal review and after the operator's commercial model is known. [LEGAL COUNSEL: ADD A LAWFUL LIABILITY CAP IF APPROPRIATE].
21. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania, unless the operator's final legal structure requires another governing law.
If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply under the law of your habitual residence where those protections cannot be waived by contract.
Before publication, confirm the appropriate courts, consumer-dispute procedure and any mandatory online dispute-resolution information: [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED].
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Trippy changes. The "Last updated" date identifies the current version.
When we do, Trippy asks you to agree to the new version the next time you open the app, and tells you it has changed rather than presenting it as though you were seeing it for the first time. Until you agree, you can still read your account, take a copy of your data, delete your account and sign out — you are never locked away from your own trips by a document you have not accepted. What you cannot do is carry on using the rest of the service, because the rest of the service is what these Terms govern.
We will not rely on an updated term retroactively where doing so would be unlawful.
